Ensemble SEV
SEV (initials stands for SAX_ELEC_VCL, and also FIBER in hebrew) was founded in 2018 in Tel Aviv with the mutual interest of its members to further expand the artistic-research through instrumental practice.
Through the realms of various contemporary music traditions, together with fresh start and under its fascination with new sonorities, the ensemble members believe that its unusual bow/pluck/blow instrumentation will emphasize their new approach towards the role of the contemporary concert in general and the artist-interpreter in particular. The members of the Ensemble, Maayan James (Saxophones), Nadav Lev (Guitars) and Dan Weinstein (Cello) are highly skilled and experienced musicians, active in various musical fields and collaborating with musicians and composers from different genres for over twenty years and on the most prestigious venues. Devoted to promote new-music in its various manifestations, and in constant research for it, either originally written for the unusual orchestration of the ensemble or by re-discovering and re-composing of existing music, the ensemble collected in a very short time some exciting new music which he presents regularly in Israel and abroad, live and online.
