14:00 Heart Training with Officer Az-Ouli
Officer Az-Ouli from the Yishar el HaLev Police first reported for duty on August 1, 2020, in Balfour, Jerusalem. She was armed with heart stickers to distribute with the aim of bringing joy and laughter, connecting hearts, and engaging with them, practicing listening to the heart amidst life’s activities. Since then, she has been swept up in the turbulent waves of the era’s history. From Saturday night protests in Balfour to ultra-Orthodox public protests at Bar Ilan Junction, through Damascus Gate during Ramadan 2021, Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, filling hearts in the Defense Army of Hearts in Area C, South Hebron Hills, and protests for and against the reform. The events of October 7 changed the nature of her activities, and she began operating in evacuee hotels, joined food distributions in Jerusalem, the Negev, and Area C, initiated marches and journeys for the release of hostages, and attended support demonstrations for the families of the hostages. After nearly five years of fieldwork, more than 470 shifts, and countless hours of meeting with beating hearts in various spaces, with changing populations and periods, Officer Az-Ouli developed a working technique for using love. An interactive performance will combine stories from the field, from various periods and populations. Techniques and practical training of the Yisrael HaLev Police will be demonstrated in collaboration with the audience. Storytelling combined with a tour of consciousness and personal and collective space, while the heart vibrates.
16:00 Maoz Inon and Aziz Abu Sarah
Maoz Inon and Aziz Abu Sarah lost their dearest ones in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Despite everything, they chose not to succumb to the pain but to turn it into a call for peace. In an emotional, personal, and unforgettable lecture, the two share their life stories and five simple actions that each of us can take to turn hope into reality. Maoz Inon – an entrepreneur and peace activist, CEO of the Interact – Peace by 2030 Association, who lost his parents, Bilha and Yaacobi Inon, on October 7 and turned his personal loss into a reconciliation journey between Israelis and Palestinians. Aziz Abu Sarah – an international Palestinian lecturer and educator, co-owner of Majdi Tours, and founder of the Interact – Peace by 2030 Association, who has been working for years to build bridges between peoples through education, tourism, and open dialogue.
