SEVELLE / Cowboys
A night of drones, drums, and hypnosis at the distillery with two bands moving in circles.
SEVELLE
In a launch performance for their debut album, Turn of A Milstone, which is being released these days on the Parisian label Orthodox. The trio consists of sculptor and sound artist Niv Gafni (homemade bagpipes), musician and designer Daniel Treystman (Karka’it – drums), and multi-instrumentalist Ron Sheskin (Karka’it, not pregnant – guitar). Through repetitive playing, Sevelle creates a “wall of sound” where piercing drones and deceptive rhythms echo the tension between order and entropy. The musicians perform a ritual of self-sacrifice, pushing themselves to exhaustion, paving the way to a dimension where minimalism becomes maximalism.
Cowboys
A bass-drums duo consisting of two-thirds of the spectacular post-hardcore band “Kleptomanim,” bassist Itamar Gurfinkel and drummer Hila Melamed will play their version of krautrock with repetitive bass lines and formidable grooves.
